Join GLOC for a trip to the Music Hall this Christmas!
Join us at the Walthamstow Trades Hall (a short walk from Walthamstow tube) on the 1st December for A Grand Night For Singing – a rip-roaring evening of music hall fun. From the show tunes of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter and Stephen Schwartz, to a selection of Gilbert and Sullivan classics; from comedy gems to audience sing-alongs there’s something for everyone! Featuring a specially written hilarious piratical panto – Ship Happens. All performed live by a large cast.
Take a listen to a small selection of the music you’ll hear:
Ship Happens – a specially written piratical panto
Join the cast for a brand new two part musical panto. Captain Book keeps a tight ship as he’s the only one who knows the location of the fabulous treasure. But what happens when his loyal First Mate, and the nervous and still wet-behind-the-ears ship’s doctor discover the captain dead in his cabin? How will they convince everyone he’s still alive and prevent a mutiny?
Featuring some stirring piratical tunes, some classic ‘dead captain’ slapstick, and of course some truly awful puns.
The Company
Grosvenor Light Opera Company are one of London’s leading amateur theatre companies and have been performing a mix of Gilbert and Sullivan and light opera shows since 1950. In a break from their usual winter panto they are branching into the world of Music Hall and they can’t wait to join you for a good old fashioned knees up!
