We are always delighted to hear from any potential new members of the society, and have vacancies for all voice parts. We are a very friendly and sociable society of young professionals from many different spheres of work, from all corners of London.
Membership is drawn from a broad section of age and employment groups most of who work in the City or West End. Each year a significant number of new members join the society – these are often young people working in London for the first time. We offer friendship, the chance to perform a wide repertoire of Gilbert and Sullivan material and to take part in fully costumed shows.

About our shows!
Each year we stage a full production, usually in the summer. Our most recent production was Pirates of Penzance, which we performed at Bridewell Theatre in May, and at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Harrogate in August.
This Winter, we are perfoming our very own take on Sleeping Beauty. Rehearsals have just started, so come along and join us! The show will be on the 7th and 8th December in Churchill Gardens, Pimlico.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6.45pm to 9.45pm, usually at St Gabriel’s Hall in Pimlico (a 5 minute walk from Pimlico tube station).
We hold an open rehearsal at the beginning of each term at which we welcome new members and hold auditions for main roles the following week. No chorus auditions are held – so just turn up and join in the fun! For more information, please contact our membership secretaries Laura and Bex on email@example.com.
Auditions are held for cast parts, there are no auditions for chorus members. There is a £10 audition fee, which is taken off your GLOC subs should you choose to be in the show. We’re currently holding auditions for Sleeping Beauty – see our news page for more details, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Auditions for Iolanthe will be taking place in February next year – sign up to our newsletter to get any updates!
How much does it cost?
Membership of GLOC is based on a membership fee, of £80 per term (half rates available for those not currently earning). If you think you would struggle to pay, please do not worry and get in touch. The fees cover the cost of a Musical Director and accompanist and the hire of rehearsal rooms. The company also appoints a production director.
