GLOC 70th Anniversary Cabaret!

Dear GLOC Members – old, new and fans!

You are cordially invited to join us for our our 70th birthday celebrations!
On Saturday 5 October we’re marking seven decades of Grosvenor Light Opera Company with a cabaret evening of stories, laughs, light opera and modified rapture. Save the date in your diaries!
This will be an opportunity to catch up with old cast-mates, new members, share our backstage stories, and of course, have a jolly good sing-along!
Everyone will have a chance to join in, from full chorus numbers to ensembles and solo spots. If you want to sing, let us know and we’ll get you on our little list.
To avoid six consecutive renditions of The Sun Whose Rays (charming as they would certainly be) we’re putting together a cracking lineup of Gilbert and Sullivan’s best work. Expect more detail soon, but to help us plan, please do get in touch:
  • If you want to sing, tell us your name, voice type, Favourite show or character, and your top chorus, ensemble and solo songs.
  • If you have any favourite memories or images of your time in GLOC, please send them to gloc70bash@hotmail.com so we can laugh, cry and exclaim in wonder together on the night.
  • Tell your former cast-mates who may no longer be in touch with us – we want as many generations of GLOC in one place as possible!
If you need to book travel or accommodation, the venue is in North London, a five minute walk from Farringdon Station.
We look forward to sharing our birthday with you all,
Yours in GLOC,
GLOC

  1. Hi GLOC. I am Julian Marland and I sang with GLOC from 1985 to 2000 (I think!), playing most tenor and baritone roles. I have been living in Hong Kong for the past 11 years but my wife and I are about to relocate back to London and I would love to come along on 5 October, and possibly get reinvolved with the company. My email is julian.marland@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
